Avro Manchester flown by Sgt E. R. Dimond
Manchester 97 Sqn named 'Sri Halalintar'
The nose section of the Manchester plane bore a striking resemblance to the subsequent Lancaster model, and was a highlight of the design. The cockpit seated the pilot and flight engineer beside each other, with an astrodome positioned aft for the navigator to conduct celestial measurements for navigation. The controls were skillfully arranged, and the aircraft was relatively easy to operate.
