Grumman Tarpon code 4L FN936 of No 846 Squadron FAA
One of 1056 Avengers received by the Fleet Air Arm during the war, this Mk I was one of the early deliveries initially known as the Tarpon GR I. It was a Grumman-built TBF-1B, fitted with ASV radar but otherwise similar to the oriqinal production model.
