35th Fighter Group Markings

Group Markings:

  1. 39th Fighter Squadron (FS)

    • Spinner and Nose: Light blue.
    • Additional Markings: Light blue vertical stripe in front of the rudder.
    • Rudder: Decorated with red and white striping.
    • Fuselage: Wide black bands on either side of the national insignia star with bars.
    • Wings: Three black bands above and below.
  2. 40th Fighter Squadron (FS)

    • Spinner and Nose: Red.
    • Fin/Rudder and Banding: Same as 39 FS with red spinner and nose.
    • Fuselage and Wings: Same black banding as the 39 FS.
  3. 41st Fighter Squadron (FS)

    • Spinner and Nose: Yellow.
    • Fin/Rudder and Banding: Same as 39 FS with yellow spinner and nose.
    • Additional Details: Thin red stripe along the edge of the anti-dazzle panel, and a horizontal white band on the fin with yellow edging.

General Aircraft Appearance:

  • Color Scheme: Most aircraft were delivered in a natural metal finish (unpainted) with an olive green anti-dazzle panel, although some had this panel repainted in black.
