Early tests showed that, with the nose turret rotated, the airflow along the fuselage sides was disturbed and the Manchester yawed violently. The problem was solved by installing a raised lip ahead of the tail turret and moving the nose turret’s axis of rotation forwards by 2 in (5 cm).
