January 21, 1943 in the newspaper “Pravda” reported the collection of 22 million rubles by the troops of the South-Western front. These funds were used to buy 21 Mk. IV “Churchill” tanks, which were manned by the 48th GBTR, which took part in the battle of Kursk.
