The Ar 234 exhibited excellent handling and performance, but it became clear that increased thrust could improve its operational efficiency. Consequently, Arado decided to develop a four-engine version, completing the sixth and eighth prototype aircraft in this configuration. The V6 prototype featured four individual nacelles, while the V8 had paired nacelles similar to those on the V13, as shown here. Although Arado tested several prototypes and development aircraft, none of the planned variants of the four-engined Ar 234C – including reconnaissance, unarmed bomber, and cannon-armed interdictor versions – reached production.
