The Ar 234B-2, a serially produced version, was a single-seat jet-powered bomber with a dorsal wing configuration. It was equipped with two turbojet engines and could carry a 2,000 kg (4,410 lb) bomb load. The bomber featured a Patin PDS three-axis autopilot with an overriding control (LKS 7D-15) and a Lotfe 7K tachometric bombsight. Shallow-dive bombing maneuvers utilized a BZA bombing computer in conjunction with the RF2C periscope sight.
