348th Fighter Group Markings

Group Markings:

340th Fighter Squadron (FS)
Spinner and Fin Band: Red/white swirl pattern.
Additional Markings: Wide black bands on the fuselage, positioned on either side of the national insignia star with bars. Three black bands above and below the wings.

341st Fighter Squadron (FS)
Spinner, Nose Band, and Fin Band: Yellow.
Additional Markings: Same wide black bands on the fuselage and three black bands above and below the wings as the 340 FS.

342nd Fighter Squadron (FS)
Spinner, Nose Band, and Fin Band: Blue.
Rudder: Red/white striped.
Additional Markings: Same wide black bands on the fuselage and three black bands above and below the wings as the other squadrons.

460th Fighter Squadron (FS)
Spinner, Nose Band, and Fin Band: Black.
Additional Markings: Same wide black bands on the fuselage and three black bands above and below the wings.

General Aircraft Appearance:

Color Scheme: The aircraft were generally delivered unpainted, except for an olive green anti-dazzle panel on the nose. This panel was occasionally repainted black on some aircraft.
